The Parent and Student Advisory Committee (PSAC)

The Parent and Student Advisory Committee (PSAC) is integral to the continued growth and improvement of The Cottonwood School. By serving on the PSAC, parents and students help bridge the connection between school leadership and our community, ensuring that the perspectives of parents, staff, and students from 7th to 12th grade are recognized and incorporated. The CA Education Code states that a school's Parent/Student Advisory Committee is established to review and comment on the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP) before the governing board adopts it each year. Members of the committee review the LCAP feedback we have received from our entire school community and add their points of view and additional perspectives as we review what our school community as a whole has shared with us via surveys each spring.

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) & District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The purpose of the ELAC/DELAC is to advise and provide input on issues pertaining to English Learners and the school’s formal plans. It is also a great way to foster greater involvement so that, working together, parents and staff can increase the academic achievement of our English Learner population. Members are invited to share ideas and opinions on how we can best serve students and foster a community that ensures a rich academic, social, and supportive experience for all multilingual students and families.
